Animal Microbiome Test Standard Dog
The core microbiome of the dog’s skin is made up of several representatives of the Firmicutes, Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria. These representatives include Staphylococcus, Corynebacterium, Cutibacterium, Sphingomonas and Micrococcus species.
Our “Dog” microbiome test-standard includes 6 key organisms that are typically found on the skin of dogs.
Microbial Infectious Diseases in Dogs
Microbial skin diseases are very common in dogs and can have different causes. As soon as the healthy balance of the skin microbiome is disturbed, one or more microorganisms can take over and lead to an infection. The most typical microbially caused skin infections in dogs include:
– Pyoderma (skin infection)
– Bacterial pododermatitis (skin inflammation on the paws)
– Malassezia dermatitis
– Otitis externa (ear infection)
– Keratoconjunctivitis (conjunctivitis and corneal inflammation of the eye)
Do you have products that are supposed to be active against these pathogens?
Our laboratory offers special tests on the effectiveness of products against the microbial pathogens that cause these diseases.
